I have a revision lecture tomorrow at 2pm. Its on psych. And then the clinical/oral exam is on the 22nd. Hopefully I will manage to leave to london on the 22nd as well. So only few days and I will be in kuwait. The strange thing is that every year I miss kuwait less
Last year we had a gathering at our house. I decided to organize a contest! No not a beauty contest! Got all the names and made a draw. There are three winners. These winners will be asked different kinds of questions in front of everyone and the winner gets a mobile phone. The problem started very early. My sister, mother, and cousin names were out! Everybody was saying that I cheated!! Although I did not even write the names, and we had the draw in front of everyone! I think they knew I did not, but just said it! Anyway my sister won. My mother was last!! I think I will be doing it again, so if anyone has good questions please go a head and give them to me. I want both interesting and hard questions. Fashionated, you will be excluded from the competition cause you know the questions!
Glitter asked me who would I vote for in the upcoming elections. I first would like to inform everyone that I will not be able to vote. I wont be in kuwait before the 22nd of may. I am enrolled in the first district
First district:
عبدالمحسن المدعج
أنور جوا بوخمسين
عبدالواحد العوضي
صالح عاشور/ عبدالله الرومي
I must note that I am not really liking them 100%, but I would not like to waste my votes. I would also have voted for “Hasan johar” if he had not joined “3bdelsamad, and lari” whom I would not have voted for even before what they did
El-3edeya was our yearly gift. Every year we know that on this particular day we will be getting some good amount of money. We usually ask our cousins; “Ha cham 7salt?” or “La ana 7salt wayed akthar”, wela “yadi 36ani wayed!”. My father used to always make sure that I do not do that. He even told me once; “لا تعد فلوسك. اللي يعد فلوسه، فلوسه تنقص” I never got what he meant and continued counting my money! Until one day! I counted my money and they were less!! I was shocked?! My father was right! I stopped counting since then. I later knew what he meant. If you constantly count your money you would make an error, gas 3laina il walid y3ni. But I liked what he said. Will use it with my future son one day nshala. Actually his grandfather will tell him nshala!
Today, I had to do that. Count my money! Its the time of the year. From september, I start collecting all the coins I have. 0.20 and anything below. I just finished counting and organizing them. I have 41kd in coins! I will go tomorrow to the bank and exchange them for cash!
The most annoying people are the people who want you for some benefit or something like that. I used to always hear that from many people. Never experienced it except last summer! I was in geneva, relaxing in the hotel lounge with my cousin. And the guys were talking about cars. I am not a big fan of cars myself but obviously I like the good ones. So I was not involved in the conversation. There was this guy who I never met except few times in that trip. He was talking about a particular car. My cousin and my self have together bought a similar car. Anyways, one of the stupid guys suddenly told him that I owned a similar car! The boy changed 180 degrees!! “beda yalzig”. Even when I left geneva to london, he sent me a message saying: “Geneva ma teswa bedounik!!”. WTF?!?! I only saw him few times!? O 3afya geneva ele ma teswa bedouni!!
I went back to kuwait. He arrived few days later, and would not stop calling!! Always asking me; when are we going out?? I kept making excuses. Until a friend told me, do go out with him, but take your regular car! Tra he will die! So when the boy called again, I told him we will go out tomorrow nshala. I went to pick him up, and before I went out he called saying; “Agoul eb ay sayara eb te6la3? Laish ma te6la3 eb a sport car?” I told him; its hot outside and the weather is not suitable, maybe next time. Anyway we went out. He really looked annoyed:D! And after that he kept calling and calling and I kept on ignoring! He even sent messages!! Ya akhe Mabi a6la3 m3ak! Mo ghasib er7amni!! He stopped eventually!!
I was up all night yesterday studying ENT. I do not like studying in the morning before the exam. I used to do that before but now I prefer to sleep. However I did not do that yesterday. I kept reading until before the clinical exam. Its because I have not studied ENT at all. Anyway, I was not sure If the exam was at 8am or 9am. I decided to go early, cause like what is the worse that could happen if I go early? At least I wont be late! I wore my tie and suit and headed to the hospital. My friend told me to check when is he supposed to be there. So I went to check the list of names and timing. And guess what?? The exam is F****** TOMORROW!! I was looking at the screen disgusted while laughing from the inside!! I checked my watch, mobile, and asked two random people about the date just to be sure! There were no signs of any students in my class as well. So I headed back home, both laughing at my misery and relieved. Relieved, because I did not really study well and now I have no excuse! Shite, I am a nerd;s!
The following occurred in third or fourth grade. Nothing after that for sure!! We had “modarisat deen” (yes I had female teachers:s) and she was teaching us how to pray. We used to go to the mosque a lot as well. 9ali7 and me were the guys that are imams. Its him one day and me the next. The only problem was; I do not know how to pray!! I was faking it!! Waiting few minutes and “allah akbar” and going down again!! Few days later we had an exam on how to pray and netwatha!! I knew we had one but I still do not know why I did not study!! I was the first person to be called and asked in front of the class to demonstrate the procedure!! I stood still not knowing what to do!! The teacher was in absolute shock and mad!! I gave her a small smile, a worried one though. And just looked straight ahead:D
While studying medicine, I found a new interest or hobby. Its very different than what I am studying. Its the stock market! I follow it, almost daily. Unless I am busy with exams. When I was in kuwait 2 years ago, I enrolled in a summer course about stocks and how to deal with them. I would not say I am an expert, I am not even half an expert . I still follow it though, and give my own predictions to my younger brother, who is actually loving the stock market and the selling and buying process. Anyway, few years back, before the stock market crashed, the market was losing a lot of points each day. I called my brother and told him to sell everything, especially that you have enough profit. He told me that I am going mad, but he said I will go ask our uncle and see what is his say on the matter. My uncle’s name is also Hasan.B, and he is really good with stocks. He asked him and my uncle laughed his arse off! And told him: Go tell Hasan to focus on his medical studies and leave this thing for the experts!! Few days later, the stock market crashed! And almost no one had the chance to sell! It crashed to the extreme that I was not even happy that my predictions were right. I went back in the summer to kuwait. My father told me he saw my uncle, my mother’s brother, in Al-3aza, and my uncle asked him how did I know that the market is going to crash? Does he have influential people giving him hot information or anything from that sort? My father told him; no, nothing like that. He just predicted it and it happened. And you know what? My father was right! It was only “ضربة حظ“.
In the summer of 2000, we were in london as usual. My two cousins and myself were at pizza express having dinner. The one just behind selfridges. 3esa (not the one that just got engaged) is 4 years older than me, and m7amed is 3 years younger than me. 3esa and m7amed were having a stupid debate. 3esa was saying that no one can drink 2L of milk in one try without vomiting. M7amed was not accepting it. So we decided to go and get some milk and I wanted an international card. It was around 11:30pm. We finished buying everything and were walking back to our apartment when suddenly three people approached us. One of them was pushing me backwards and faja’a a punch stroked my face! Yes I saw some circulating birds. Anyway, I realized its time for self defence! I fought back, the guy was asking for my money and my mobile. Although I did not have much in my pocket, I told myself that there is no way I am giving him anything! 3esa was also fighting, he was fighting two men!! Few minutes later, they ran away. They never stole anything from me and 3esa. We looked left and right? There was no sing of m7amed! We got a bit worried. His parents are not here, and he is amana 3ndena. We called his number and they answered. We asked where is our cousin, they said; He is F***** disabled!! We stood there for a while not knowing what to do, until we got a call from my sister telling us to come back QUICKLY! She was worried. We realized that m7amed, our overweight cousin, who does not like walking at ALL, has took off his sandals and ran like there was no tomorrow!! We later knew that he gave them the phone by mutual consent just before running:D! When our family knew about it later (our faces had many signs) they said that: El-rayal el wa7ed fekom is 7amood!!!
